This is the competition for you!
Here's how it works:

Fill out the online application form which will be available between January 1st and June 1st, 2012. You will be asked to provide a YouTube video of you performing your song! Don't worry, video quality is not a factor.

Come to the exclusive songwriting workshop (Sat Jun 9th, 2012).

By Sun Jun 10th, 2012, an impartial pre-selection jury will notify the chosen Top 10.

On Sat June 23rd, 2012, 2-4:30pm, the Top 10 will compete in front of a live audience and a new panel of judges, by performing their song as a soloist or as a duo. The 1st place winner and the runners-up will be awarded crazy awesome prizes!

Also, the People's Choice Award will be awarded to the competitor in the Top 10 with the most online votes!

The grand prize winner will be announced as the new Acoustic Nights Best Teen Songwriter of 2012! He/she will also get to perform with a full band at the Acoustic Nights Montreal Gala 2012 showcase, at a major venue in Montreal! (Sun Sep 30, at La Sala Rossa).

The grand prize includes a chance to open for major artists, backed by a full band of professional musicians, at the Acoustic Nights Montreal Gala 2012 (Sun, Sep 30, 2012 at Sala Rossa)! You'll play to a large crowd, including industry professionals. Other prizes include a recording session in a professional studio, music lessons, artist EPK, and much more!

Your application gives you access to an exclusive 2h songwriting workshop and a written critique by professional songwriters of your submitted song. The Top 10 will perform their song at the competition on Sat June 23rd, 2012, in front of a live audience and a panel of expert judges. Competitors will be judged on song structure, lyrics, performance and stage presence, while judges give you constructive feedback.
