Mission of Acoustic Nights Montreal

The mission of Acoustic Nights Montreal is to promote independent artists and local singer-songwriters. This volunteer-based organization was founded in 2009 by Melina Soochan, an established musician and singer-songwriter herself.

The ANM Series is a bimonthly showcase featuring up-and-coming musicians in Montreal. The goal of the Series is to give exposure to local artists of various genres, and to promote fair play and fair pay in the industry. There have been 10 chapters in the series since inception. The ANM Series of showcases is on hiatus for the time being.

In 2011, Acoustic Nights expanded into the youth sector, encouraging teen musicians to develop their songwriting and performance skills through the introduction of the annual ANM Teen Songwriting Competition.

The ANM Teen Songwriting Competition 2012 is now open for applications until June 1st, 2012. The competition will take place on Sat June 23, 2012. Please see the rules.

This year we are extending participation to the songwriting workshop (Sat June 9, 2012, 2pm) to non-competitors of all ages as well, subject to a small fee.
